Creating Your Own Server

Steam Networking Server

This option guides you through setting up your own server using the Steam Networking Server.

  1. Activate the in-game console: (See "Establishing a Connection" > Step to Connect > 1. Activate the In-Game Console)
  2. Launch the game.
  3. Click on "Create Server".
  4. In the "Server" tab, select the desired starting map.
  5. Enable the "Use Steam Networking" checkbox.
    console connect command

  6. In the "Game" tab, adjust the desired settings.
  7. It is recommended to include your location in the "Hostname" field. For example, you could name your server "Lord Helmchen's Server [Europe|CH]". This makes it immediately apparent on gameservertracker.net whether the connection speed is acceptable, and it also allows users to filter by server name (e.g., by "Europe").
